Robyn time!

The girls left in the early afternoon and it was a great opportunity for Robyn and I to spend some quality gf time. It was so fantastic to catch up and share and cook and drink and chill and watch a movie.

She decided to make Vegan hominy chili- it was super, awesomely delicious! and spicy too!!

While cooking we enjoyed some gin/ginger ale icy cold beverages and then we watched Inglorious Bastards- good times!!

BookClub Reunion

Some of the members of the Food Fight Book Club were able to get away for a weekend of catching up and eating (of course). Sarah and Meredith couldn't make it and we certainly missed them.

Here are my beautiful girlfriends at Beaker and Flask in Portland starting the evening with cocktails, which of course was followed by a delightful dinner and amazing desserts:

The next morning, Craig joined us for breakfast at Bread and Ink

After breakfast, we strolled around the Hawthorne neighborhood. We found some remnants of the Valentine's Day holiday. I particularly liked these hearts expressing love for various things (i.e. coffee and forties) as well as displays of heartbreak to balance it out.

Paige and Dave visit

Paige and Dave came to visit for a long weekend. It turned out to be Valentine's day weekend and we were glad to spend it with them. They treated us to a stay at the Benbow Inn, about an hour south of here. It is a lovely spot on the Eel River and they have an amazing restaurant where we enjoyed delicious meals.

The guys tried their hand at catching steelhead while the ladies enjoyed some relaxation. Our valentines:

CD was busy with his teaching schedule, so Paige, Dave and I took the opportunity to go up the Mad River. Dave was on the lookout for fish again!
